Canadian employers are reported an almost a million vacancies during the first quarter of this year. This is a record.
According to Statistics Canada, there were just over 950,000 vacancies throughout the country between January and March of this year.
The sector with the highest number of vacancies was the healthcare and social assistance sector with just over 135,000 openings, closely followed by the hospitality and food services sector.
With the number unemployed hitting a record low, employers are having a tough time hiring new employees.
